Our Mission
Ammunition prices fluctuate constantly. Supply disruptions, legislative changes, seasonal demand, and retailer competition all create pricing volatility that costs shooters real money. Most people either overpay because they do not know the market, or spend hours checking multiple sites trying to find the best deal.
Ghost solves this by aggregating live prices from every major US ammunition retailer into a single, fast, intelligent platform. We do not just show you where to buy -- we tell you when to buy with data-driven signals based on historical pricing.
How It Works
1. We scrape prices continuously. Our infrastructure pulls live product listings, prices, and stock status from 230+ US ammunition retailers every 2-4 hours. Every listing gets normalized to cost-per-round (CPR) for fair comparison.
2. We analyze the data. Historical price data feeds our intelligence engine. When a caliber's current CPR is significantly below its 30-day or 90-day average, we generate a BUY signal. Near average = HOLD. Above average = WAIT.
3. You search, compare, and buy smarter. Search any caliber, brand, or product. Filter by grain weight, bullet type, retailer, and more. Sort by CPR to find the lowest price. Click through to purchase directly from the retailer.
Our Business Model
Ghost is free for all users. We plan to monetize through affiliate partnerships with ammunition retailers. When you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
This model keeps our incentives aligned: we succeed when you find great deals and buy through our platform. We will always clearly label any sponsored or promoted content.
Data & Accuracy
All pricing data comes directly from retailer websites. We do our best to keep information current, but prices and stock can change between our scraping cycles. Every listing shows a "last updated" timestamp so you can judge freshness. Always verify the final price at the retailer before purchasing.
Ghost currently covers US markets only. All prices are in USD. We track handgun, rifle, rimfire, and shotgun ammunition across 50+ calibers.
Who Built Ghost

Founder & Lead Analyst
Leif is a lifelong firearms enthusiast and competitive shooter with over 15 years of experience behind the trigger. He has competed in USPSA and IDPA matches across the western United States and holds a deep understanding of the ammunition market from both the consumer and data sides.
Before building Ghost, Leif spent years tracking ammunition prices manually -- maintaining spreadsheets, setting calendar reminders to check retailers, and watching forums for deal alerts. The inefficiency of that process, and the thousands of dollars left on the table by shooters who simply did not have the time to comparison-shop, is what drove him to build a platform that does it automatically.
Leif brings a background in data engineering and market analysis to Ghost. He designed the scraping infrastructure, the CPR normalization methodology, and the BUY/HOLD/WAIT signal engine. Every piece of market analysis published on Ghost reflects his direct experience both as a shooter and as someone who has studied ammunition pricing patterns for over a decade.
