Ghost is not related to unserialized firearms or "ghost guns" — it is a price intelligence tool for legal ammunition purchases, built by morninglab.
How does Ghost compare ammo prices?
Ghost scrapes product listings from 230+retailers every 2–4 hours and converts every price to cost per round (CPR = total price ÷ number of rounds). This makes a $15 box of 50 rounds and a $300 case of 1,000 rounds directly comparable. The platform covers 105+ calibers across handgun, rifle, rimfire, and shotgun categories.
What are BUY/HOLD/WAIT signals?
Ghost compares the current best CPR for each caliber against its 30-day moving average. When the current price is more than 10% below the average, Ghost signals BUY. Within 10% of the average is HOLD. More than 10% above the average is WAIT. Each signal carries a confidence score from 1 to 3 based on data freshness, listing count, and trend consistency.
Is Ghost free to use?
Search, price comparison, signals, and email alerts are all free. No account, subscription, or paywall is required. Ghost is funded through affiliate partnerships with retailers — results are never manipulated based on affiliate relationships.
