What are BUY/HOLD/WAIT signals?
Ghost compares each caliber’s market price index with its 30-day average. At least 10% below the average is BUY; at least 10% above is WAIT. Between those thresholds is HOLD. HOLD does not mean prices are flat, and the signals do not predict future prices.
The index tracks price changes in the same products, including sold-out listings. A product selling out or a new listing appearing cannot create a price change. Each comparable series starts at 100. Chart breaks mean no products could be matched; no change is inferred across them.
Dollar prices show current shopping offers separately. Percentages and charts show the market index. The previous-observation percentage compares the last two comparable observations; it can be unchanged even when the month’s chart moves. Confidence reflects the number of matching quotes, not a guarantee.

Ghost checks product listings from 230+ retailers daily and converts every price to cost per round (CPR = total price ÷ number of rounds). This makes a $15 box of 50 rounds and a $300 case of 1,000 rounds directly comparable. The platform covers 105+ calibers across handgun, rifle, rimfire, and shotgun categories.
Is Ghost free to use?
Search, price comparison, signals, and email alerts are all free. No account, subscription, or paywall is required. Ghost is funded through affiliate partnerships with retailers — results are never manipulated based on affiliate relationships.
